Fame or Embarrassment

Its been quite sometime..infact, really long time since i've posted anything here. Dunno why but I dont feel like putting anything here. I have quite a lot of things on my mind but i'm unable to express them in words.."writer's block" (though i'm not really much of a writer).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was watching 'The Simpsons' the other day. Now that the cable guy has done the most angelic job of putting Star World back on, I just can't help but stay glued to it. You can call it "Bad TV addiction"[:D], but I absolutely love watching Star World !

So I was watching 'The Simpsons' and the episode was the one where Bart Simpson discovers that Homer and Marge made him do a commercial as a baby where he was.....

"Baby Stink-Breath" [XD]

Well just as expected, he is highly embarrassed after knowing this and gets all upset when the kids around start teasing him by that name.

This made me think (Nowadays I get ideas from such shows only [;)])......
What do these little babies who appear in the diaper commercials (where they are made to do all weird embarrassing things) feel about it when they grow up???

Like the ad where the baby is running in the house without any pants or diaper on, away from everyone who are trying to "COOCHIE COO" his/her butt and eventually the baby's mom (in the commercial) catches the baby and "COOCHIE COOS" the baby's butt!!

Or the one where the baby is walking around with a loose diaper and it comes off! I guess it was for some pant style diaper.

We people find these ads really cute because these babies are really really cute. But what about them?
How would they feel about this kind of "exposure" :P on Television when they grow a little older??

Would they be proud that they are famous??
Anything for fame! OR
Would they be embarrassed that their parents let anything of this sort happen?? :D ;)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I could think of writing to shoo away the block..atleast i did manage to write something however weird and absurd it may be. :D

Adios!!

I wish..

My vacations just got over last week. This vacation was a little bit different from others because other than just planning the Things-to-do I actually did a few things during the initial part of my vacation. Read two awesome books-- A Thousand Splendid Suns- Khaled Hossieni and Da Vinci Code - Dan Browm. Other than that preparations for placements and then getting placed...YES!! I got placed!!

As I utilized the first half of my vacation quite efficiently, the second half had to be my lazing time. After all I had to live up to my reputation. I was pretty jobless. The whole day watching TV--Facebook--watching TV again XD

Well during this time I did something that only a jobless person could do..Watch the CID episodes' marathon run.:D When I was a kid I used to watch CID as a serious thriller show. Now its nothing more than a comedy show!! Awesome comedy I must say!! Some preposterous forensic evidences and conclusions make me laugh my guts out and Fredrick's acting...WOW!! super duper!! :P Daya,The Door Breaker and The Slap Machine. In fact believe it or not; On facebook there is a fan page of "DAYA DARWAZA TOD DO." MAny other pages dedicated to CID can also be found there. Though I may make fun of it,there is one thing that I like about CID.

The cases are solved so quickly. The criminal then narrates why he committed the crime (Of course, not before Daya's thappad :D) and then the ACP's dialog, "Ab ya to tumhe faasi ki saza hogi ya aajivan kaaraavaas."

I wish that would have happened in real life too. Here it takes years and years to convict someone and then the punishments are also a joke. Eg. 6 months imprisonment for molesting a girl!! This makes me wonder..."Why aren't our punishments harsher??" The crime rate in our country has increased by many folds. Shouldn't something be done to curb it? Why not introduce harsher punishments for serious proven crimes? Unless and until that happens , the criminal minds in our country are going to flourish and be carefree about facing any harsh punishments for their crimes. It would be like...India hai...Dubai nahi..maximum punishment for a few years.(Btw Dubai crime rate is almost zero..barring some immigration crimes..also the punishment for even 'petty' crimes like theft are also very harsh).

As i say this I must also mention here that I recently saw in the News --> Death sentence given to 2 kidnappers to set an example. I think it is a welcomed move and hoping it will help reduce the crime rate and many more such initiatives are taken.

Adios.

Now I Know Why!!

Wednesday, the 30th,was like any other day. Reaching the college at 9:15 for an 8:15 lecture; attending ALL OF THEM and waiting at the bus stop looking at all the crowd getting into the bus so that I can get into a relatively empty bus. Me and my friend were doing tp at the bus stop staring at people..its fun you know..observing different people...their expressions..their actions.

We were busy doing that when we noticed a boy not more than 7-8 years old staring at people's bags in a very suspicious way. Firstly, let me describe the bus stop for you. Whenever the college leaves, the bus stop is overcrowded with college students. So you find a lot of people who have their bags behind them.

Back to this guy..He was suspiciously moving around. So we decided to observe him what he is upto. Whenever any bus came at the stop and the crowd rushed there,he used to rush along with them but not get into the bus.We saw it happen 3 times that too the buses were of completely different destinations. He then used to go to his friend who was standing nearby with a cycle. By this time we realized that he was upto no good..but we werent able to catch him red handed as it was highly crowded.
Then came another bus. This time we saw him open a girl's bag.My friend without giving it a second thought ,quickly caught his hand.He made an innocent face and said "Jaane do na....bus pakadna hai."

My friend : "Uss ladki ka bag kyon khola?"
Boy:"Nahi Khola...jaane do na."
Me: "Police ko bulau kya??"
Boy:"Jaane do na...phir aisa nahi karoonga."
The police threat scared the boy.By then people gathered.
One guy (to my friend): "Did he steal something belonging to you?"
My friend :"No."
That guy:"Then why have you caught him??Let him go na."
My friend :"Fine he didnt take anything from me...but tommorow if he steals something from you, are u going to say 'Let him go'?"
One rickshaw driver: "Maine dekha usey bag kholte huey..par baccha hai...jaane do."
Well, we then warned him..
"Phir aisa kuch karte huey mila toh police ke pass de denge"
Boy:"nahi karoonga...haath chodo na."

As soon as my friend let go of his hand...he ran away, sat on his friend's cycle and vanished out of our sight. We did feel a sense of relief that we managed to save some wallets for the day. But we know somehow that he isn't going to stop it.If not this bus stop..then some other stop.

But two things shocked me to the core:
First:::: The guy was so small..must be hardly 7-8 years old.As much as I was angry with that guy, I did feel a sense of pity for him..so much that my "Police ko bulau" dialog sounded like "candy doon" !!--my friend tells me this.hehe
I HOPE he finds the right track..Dear GOD..please help him!! ^_^

Second:::: The attitude of people around. It was TERRIBLE. This guy is stealing things and no one is bothered. Of course,we had no intention of calling the police..because we believe that it would harm his childhood that he can still regain. But had the people around us reacted more sternly..probably it would have had a deeper impact on that boy. But with the "jaane do..baccha hai" attitude..i wonder if the kid was really scared at a point or he was acting.
The "AS LONG AS I'M NOT ON THE RECEIVING END,I DON'T CARE" Attitude was so prevalent among people there.

And NOW I KNOW WHY........
Why my country is in such a poor state of affairs..
Its because people dont care if someone gets robbed or mobbed or molested or even killed!!!
They are not the ones suffering na...so why bother??
I feel so sorry for my country and I hope there are atleast a few people around who will react the way my friend did and not like the others standing there!!It would definitely help her!

On a lighter note...The GQ ultimate man of the yr 2009 award went to Bebo's Saifuuu..
Me asking....."KYUUUUUUU???"

Marriages are made....ON TELEVISION!

Initially,it was just the families and the priests...then the marriage bureaus, next came the internet with the matchmaking portals and the latest entrant in the world of matchmaking is....(drums on roll)..TELEVISION or hamare pyaare TV ji.
I remember Madhuri Dixit used to host such a show 'Kahin na kahin koi hai' which reminds me of 'SHHH! koi hai'...dunno why :D
After the show turned out to be a SUPER DUPER FLOP..TV ji backed out of this business. But IT'S BACK again!! And the trend setter is none other than our very own Indian Paris Hilton --->Rakheeee Sawant.(Taliyan Taliyan)..
Honestly when I heard that there were around 1200 applicants to be her 'var'...I actually fell off my chair. "Did recession hit these guys so bad"???"Are they out of their mind"???"Is Rakhi 'jee' the new ideal bride"??? Anyways so there was a show now and Rakhi was going to start the process of selecting her 'var' and my mind started the useless process of thinking how the show was going to end.
One outcome of this process was:(yeah i talks n walks only technical language :D)
--->She decides to get back with her ex bf Abhishek..
"Abhishek main sirf tumhari hoon aur tumhari hi rahoongi(imagine an 80's actress saying that)...Press ko bulao..aur double media ko bulao...mera var sirf ABhishek hi hai!!!"
Then i got another shock...the show ended (i dunno when) and she decided to marry some NRI uncle!!whoa!!totally unexpected!A real Swayamvar!!

And the trend has begun..Now theres Lux ki perfect bride..oops..i mean "lux" perfect Bride, where 5 betas with their mummies are going to select dulhanns for them. The mummies are going to play typical saas it seems..Seriously,how ridiculous can it get..Heres i imagine how much..

Beta:Mummy Mummy can I marry her?
Mummy:No beta..she is taller than you!

Beta:Mummy Mummy can I marry her then?
Mummy:No beta...she is a masahaari..she doesn't know how to treat animals (i'm sure she'll mistreat you too!)

Beta:Mummy Mummy can I marry Rakhi Sawant then?
Mummy: *slaps hard* Kya duniya ki sari ladkiyan mar gayi hain??? Dont u know she has her var and also a baby now!!

Well as I was imagining after matchmaking..What next??But hamare TV ji itne smart hai ke ab kya bolu. Now TV ji will give couples training on 'How to manage small babies'. It has Rakhi Sawant again with her NRI uncle and its on NDTV Imagine.
I wonder why does Imagine care so much about Ms. Sawant..first her Swayamvar and now training to become a good Mommy!!Kudos to imagine!!What a challenge!!

As the show airs today...I again wonder..WHAT NEXT??? And i hope that our dear TV ji has no such answer to it.

P.S. :- Btw Himesss uncle is back with his faltoo..oops i mean fultoo attitude...and bajofying his maaannnn kaaa radiyyon...
HELP!!!

Sad thoughts.

21st June was the final of the ICC T20 world cup....and I being a cricket fanatic (i can proudly say that i am 1 of the few girls who likes cricket because of cricket and not because of the cricketers :)...though i do like a few of them:D) was definitely watching it!

Sri Lanka v/s Pakistan....i was a little disappointed that India didnt make it to the finals..but then they didnt play that good enough so they didnt deserve it!I was rooting for Sri Lanka..nothing against Pakistan....but SL has 1 of my Fav players..kumar Sangakarra..so I was on sri lanka's side...and as usual...the team that I support never manages to win!!:(....(99% of the times that happens)

Initially I was a bit disappointed...but then I switched on a NEWS channel where they showed videos of Pakistani fans celebrating...doing the nagin dance and all.

It brought a big smile on my face. Yes,SL lost...but there was something more important that happened..the ppl of Pakistan got something to celebrate. The past few weeks must hav been difficult for ppl there because of all the tension going on over there..we hear of bomb blasts every day...and in such times...a world cup must be like being on the top of the world!!So..in all I was happy!

But yesterday i read an article in the newspaper in which Shahid Afridi said that the Indians were not happy playing against us..that really pissed me off!

Dude!!U've won a World cup...you are being worshipped as a hero in your country...why do you have to say all these things and spoil the happy atmosphere around???C'mon I dnt think India will ever do that...thats my personal opnion of course!but a strong belief that they wont do that..If u are sulking at a moment when you should be dancing with joy...and cherishing every moment..then you've got a serious problem Mr.!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saw on the news just now..Michael Jackson no more! thats a really sad news that came up today....but what was more sad was the way people were talking about him in a negative way.
Sure...he has had a lot of controversies....but you can't deny THE fact that he was for sure the King of Pop!His songs were a craze...and his dance moves...wow!! (I tried to do the moon walk once...almost sprained my leg...and plus had all my folks laughing their heart out!)

I was taught this as a child..that when someone passes away..you shudnt be talking bad abt him no matter how many bad things he might hav done..so it did disappoint me!!
I'm sure being a celeb in hollywood must not be easy at all...the cameras following you every where...and their bad sides will come up to but you cant ignore their talent...

Like for eg. Britney Spears...her life is overflowing with controversies!!!But you cant deny the fact that shes one of the best popstars ever!!But if u curse or talk about some one like Lindsay Lohan..Of course i wont blame u then..the girls got no talent(atleast she hasnt shwn any till date) and only controversies in her life!!

I so hope that ppl start taking out positives out of other ppl lives and talk about it and not the negative ones.

...

One phone call...and it changes your life track completely!!!
No..it wasn't from God :D (ppl who've read 1 night @ the call center will probably understand the joke intended)

Actually I was quite confused about what to do after my engineering...its my final year,so its high time..i should start thinking about it..
So I called up a career guidance counsellor of jaan-pehchaan :D
My first question was obviously about placements!!What else does a "budding" engineer think about?? I asked him about the current placement scenario. He said its really bad..hardly any placements happening now...That is something i didnt want to hear at all!!But i guess thats the truth...have to live with it :(
That means I have to study further and make myself more "valueable". The options I had: MS ,ME and MBA.I dont want to do MS or ME...so that leaves me with MBA!!
A year back from now I never ever gave even a small thought to doing MBA.. All I thought about was how I have to work for placements..get a good job and then manage it..and now here I am looking for a good class for CAT training . I know that I have to bell the CAT in 2010 for sure!
Well...It did affect my plans for vacations though..Now my driving license will have to wait for a while and so will the guitar maybe..Btw I completed cleaning my room..*phew*
And now along with my BE I have an MBA to do!! :) or :( (really don't know)

Finally....Its here!!!

Finally, its here!!!! Its VACATION TIME!!!! Yippeee!!! Feels so good to have a break after such a hectic schedule...that too such a long break....42 days!!! mamma mia!!
The most precious 42 days because after that my final year starts...BE....and its not gonna be a cakewalk for sure.I struggled a lot in coping up with the 6th semester..so a bit nervous about the 7th & 8th.So I hope they are 42 days of fun and I hope to make the most out of it.
Well,I've planned a TO-DO list for this vacation and i hope i can do it!! :D
Here's my list:::>

#1.. Get my driver's license:::>
I was never too keen to learn driving.Mumbai's traffic scares me like anything!
But its always important to know something which can help you in case of any emergency. So i've decided to learn driving! I hope it shooos away my fear of driving a car in mumbai's traffic..hehe..

#2.. Complete reading the Twilight series:::>

Okay...I've heard enough about Twilight!!so now...I want to read it :D..
The best part is that i have the whole series at home.my sis has already completed reading it.She says its for the hopelessly romantic ones....hmm..okay...its definitely for me then!!! :D

#3.. Clean up my room!!! :::>
My room is a total mess! And believe me its not just a 1 or 2 day job to complete cleaning it!Its even scarier than the mumbai traffic! **OK..exaggerated....nothing can be worse than mumbai traffic** All my books lying here and there..some on the bed...another mountain sort of heap on my study table..and some even on the dining table..hehe..Well the good thing would be tht it would help me in losing a few pounds :D
Wish me Luck!!!

#4.. Wanna play a GUITAR
And last but not the least I want to learn to play a guitar..its so cool!!and i'm gonna start this summer...well not summer actually...b'coz its almost rainy season...so i'm gonna start it now! Sailo has one beauty and she is pretty good at it.So she'll teach me, i hope.

Well I hope I complete...umm...start and complete all the things that I've planned *fingers crossed*!!

P.S.
Have you see Eminem's new video from his new album Relapse???Its disgusting & irritating! And its on #1 on VH1's Top 10!!!People what wrong with you???
