I wish..

My vacations just got over last week. This vacation was a little bit different from others because other than just planning the Things-to-do I actually did a few things during the initial part of my vacation. Read two awesome books-- A Thousand Splendid Suns- Khaled Hossieni and Da Vinci Code - Dan Browm. Other than that preparations for placements and then getting placed...YES!! I got placed!!

As I utilized the first half of my vacation quite efficiently, the second half had to be my lazing time. After all I had to live up to my reputation. I was pretty jobless. The whole day watching TV--Facebook--watching TV again XD

Well during this time I did something that only a jobless person could do..Watch the CID episodes' marathon run.:D When I was a kid I used to watch CID as a serious thriller show. Now its nothing more than a comedy show!! Awesome comedy I must say!! Some preposterous forensic evidences and conclusions make me laugh my guts out and Fredrick's acting...WOW!! super duper!! :P Daya,The Door Breaker and The Slap Machine. In fact believe it or not; On facebook there is a fan page of "DAYA DARWAZA TOD DO." MAny other pages dedicated to CID can also be found there. Though I may make fun of it,there is one thing that I like about CID.

The cases are solved so quickly. The criminal then narrates why he committed the crime (Of course, not before Daya's thappad :D) and then the ACP's dialog, "Ab ya to tumhe faasi ki saza hogi ya aajivan kaaraavaas."

I wish that would have happened in real life too. Here it takes years and years to convict someone and then the punishments are also a joke. Eg. 6 months imprisonment for molesting a girl!! This makes me wonder..."Why aren't our punishments harsher??" The crime rate in our country has increased by many folds. Shouldn't something be done to curb it? Why not introduce harsher punishments for serious proven crimes? Unless and until that happens , the criminal minds in our country are going to flourish and be carefree about facing any harsh punishments for their crimes. It would be like...India hai...Dubai nahi..maximum punishment for a few years.(Btw Dubai crime rate is almost zero..barring some immigration crimes..also the punishment for even 'petty' crimes like theft are also very harsh).

As i say this I must also mention here that I recently saw in the News --> Death sentence given to 2 kidnappers to set an example. I think it is a welcomed move and hoping it will help reduce the crime rate and many more such initiatives are taken.

Adios.

Now I Know Why!!

Wednesday, the 30th,was like any other day. Reaching the college at 9:15 for an 8:15 lecture; attending ALL OF THEM and waiting at the bus stop looking at all the crowd getting into the bus so that I can get into a relatively empty bus. Me and my friend were doing tp at the bus stop staring at people..its fun you know..observing different people...their expressions..their actions.

We were busy doing that when we noticed a boy not more than 7-8 years old staring at people's bags in a very suspicious way. Firstly, let me describe the bus stop for you. Whenever the college leaves, the bus stop is overcrowded with college students. So you find a lot of people who have their bags behind them.

Back to this guy..He was suspiciously moving around. So we decided to observe him what he is upto. Whenever any bus came at the stop and the crowd rushed there,he used to rush along with them but not get into the bus.We saw it happen 3 times that too the buses were of completely different destinations. He then used to go to his friend who was standing nearby with a cycle. By this time we realized that he was upto no good..but we werent able to catch him red handed as it was highly crowded.
Then came another bus. This time we saw him open a girl's bag.My friend without giving it a second thought ,quickly caught his hand.He made an innocent face and said "Jaane do na....bus pakadna hai."

My friend : "Uss ladki ka bag kyon khola?"
Boy:"Nahi Khola...jaane do na."
Me: "Police ko bulau kya??"
Boy:"Jaane do na...phir aisa nahi karoonga."
The police threat scared the boy.By then people gathered.
One guy (to my friend): "Did he steal something belonging to you?"
My friend :"No."
That guy:"Then why have you caught him??Let him go na."
My friend :"Fine he didnt take anything from me...but tommorow if he steals something from you, are u going to say 'Let him go'?"
One rickshaw driver: "Maine dekha usey bag kholte huey..par baccha hai...jaane do."
Well, we then warned him..
"Phir aisa kuch karte huey mila toh police ke pass de denge"
Boy:"nahi karoonga...haath chodo na."

As soon as my friend let go of his hand...he ran away, sat on his friend's cycle and vanished out of our sight. We did feel a sense of relief that we managed to save some wallets for the day. But we know somehow that he isn't going to stop it.If not this bus stop..then some other stop.

But two things shocked me to the core:
First:::: The guy was so small..must be hardly 7-8 years old.As much as I was angry with that guy, I did feel a sense of pity for him..so much that my "Police ko bulau" dialog sounded like "candy doon" !!--my friend tells me this.hehe
I HOPE he finds the right track..Dear GOD..please help him!! ^_^

Second:::: The attitude of people around. It was TERRIBLE. This guy is stealing things and no one is bothered. Of course,we had no intention of calling the police..because we believe that it would harm his childhood that he can still regain. But had the people around us reacted more sternly..probably it would have had a deeper impact on that boy. But with the "jaane do..baccha hai" attitude..i wonder if the kid was really scared at a point or he was acting.
The "AS LONG AS I'M NOT ON THE RECEIVING END,I DON'T CARE" Attitude was so prevalent among people there.

And NOW I KNOW WHY........
Why my country is in such a poor state of affairs..
Its because people dont care if someone gets robbed or mobbed or molested or even killed!!!
They are not the ones suffering na...so why bother??
I feel so sorry for my country and I hope there are atleast a few people around who will react the way my friend did and not like the others standing there!!It would definitely help her!

On a lighter note...The GQ ultimate man of the yr 2009 award went to Bebo's Saifuuu..
Me asking....."KYUUUUUUU???"

Signing off,
Adios amigos.

Sad thoughts.

21st June was the final of the ICC T20 world cup....and I being a cricket fanatic (i can proudly say that i am 1 of the few girls who likes cricket because of cricket and not because of the cricketers :)...though i do like a few of them:D) was definitely watching it!

Sri Lanka v/s Pakistan....i was a little disappointed that India didnt make it to the finals..but then they didnt play that good enough so they didnt deserve it!I was rooting for Sri Lanka..nothing against Pakistan....but SL has 1 of my Fav players..kumar Sangakarra..so I was on sri lanka's side...and as usual...the team that I support never manages to win!!:(....(99% of the times that happens)

Initially I was a bit disappointed...but then I switched on a NEWS channel where they showed videos of Pakistani fans celebrating...doing the nagin dance and all.

It brought a big smile on my face. Yes,SL lost...but there was something more important that happened..the ppl of Pakistan got something to celebrate. The past few weeks must hav been difficult for ppl there because of all the tension going on over there..we hear of bomb blasts every day...and in such times...a world cup must be like being on the top of the world!!So..in all I was happy!

But yesterday i read an article in the newspaper in which Shahid Afridi said that the Indians were not happy playing against us..that really pissed me off!

Dude!!U've won a World cup...you are being worshipped as a hero in your country...why do you have to say all these things and spoil the happy atmosphere around???C'mon I dnt think India will ever do that...thats my personal opnion of course!but a strong belief that they wont do that..If u are sulking at a moment when you should be dancing with joy...and cherishing every moment..then you've got a serious problem Mr.!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saw on the news just now..Michael Jackson no more! thats a really sad news that came up today....but what was more sad was the way people were talking about him in a negative way.
Sure...he has had a lot of controversies....but you can't deny THE fact that he was for sure the King of Pop!His songs were a craze...and his dance moves...wow!! (I tried to do the moon walk once...almost sprained my leg...and plus had all my folks laughing their heart out!)

I was taught this as a child..that when someone passes away..you shudnt be talking bad abt him no matter how many bad things he might hav done..so it did disappoint me!!
I'm sure being a celeb in hollywood must not be easy at all...the cameras following you every where...and their bad sides will come up to but you cant ignore their talent...

Like for eg. Britney Spears...her life is overflowing with controversies!!!But you cant deny the fact that shes one of the best popstars ever!!But if u curse or talk about some one like Lindsay Lohan..Of course i wont blame u then..the girls got no talent(atleast she hasnt shwn any till date) and only controversies in her life!!

I so hope that ppl start taking out positives out of other ppl lives and talk about it and not the negative ones.

Attacked!!!

Its HOLI time...but wait!!!Its not right now but a whole WEEK later...
Why don't People remember it??Why do they want to make every Festival soooo unpleasant????
Yesterday..was just like any other day....reached college at 9:05am as usual(it starts at 9:00 :D )....sat through the boring lectures....attended practicals where everyone around me was playing CounterStrike and I...well PinBall!!And then back home.
While I was walking back home from the bus stop...some dumb idiotic character from 1 of the buildings threw a water balloon on me..Luckily it missed me...but my shoe was not so fortunate!!My favourite pair of shoes!!*sob sob* All dirty!!!I felt like shouting out a hundred thousand abuses (these are the times when you should use them ;))..but then a second thought crossed my mind...."if i stand here even for a minute longer my white shirt's gonna be no longer white!!"I walked away from there as fast as i could*yes i m a big coward*..Couldnt even see tht persons face....coz tht stupid rat went and hid inside his bunker.
Why cant people live peacefully and let others live peacefully????What pleasure do they get by targetting poor pedestrians??My travelling allowance during Holi(thats 10 days b4 and after Holi) is much higher bcoz i travel by rickshaw in order to save my clothes and bag...and plus i hav to keep all my whites and lites packed out of my wardrobe...dont want to take any risk!
Like I mentioned in one of my earlier posts...Festivals are no longer that source of happiness and togetherness that they should be..and like every year Holi(actually the week before Holi)is going to be that troubling experience that it has been always!*sigh*
Again A HOPE that probably people would understand that maybe throwing balloons from the terrace of their apartments might be fun for them...but it is defintely not for the person walking by!!
Dear God,please please help them!!!

P.S. :I still havnt got my result yet and ma'am say enjoy your holi...its not comin before tht..
but the point is how do we enjoy???Exactly two months since our exams got over!!
Darn MU!!!

Adios!! :)

Why-O-Why

There are some days in your life when you want everything to be just perfect...but nothing goes your way and all you can say is Why-O-Why???

It was our college cultural fest and I was a participant in Antakshari.I was so HAPPY..2 Reasons for that:

  • It was second year in a row that I got selected for the finals and
  • This time there was no Miss OC in my team :)

Now let me tell you about this Ms. OC....

Last year she was with us in the finals and this year in the auditions,we were made one team.First round in auditions was the normal antakshari round and here i realized the disadvantages of having a soft voice.OC has a loud voice and everytime we got an alphabet she would start singing without consulting with us.
It was like I was singing 1 song .....suddenly she starts with another one and eventually I had to sing what she was singing 'coz my voice was barely heard!! :( I was so pissed off!! I thought...'there goes my chance....buh bye antakshari'...but a sudden change of fate in other rounds and Neha and I got selected and OC failed to make it..I was so happy and relieved...My conscience told me...'Pri this is really bad,you shouldnt enjoy someones failure..you'll regret it later' and I said,'Shut up!!I am 100% happy tht shez not selected and you are definitely not spoiling it!!!'

25th Feb,2009..Our antakshari...Neha and I reached college by 11am and headed towards the auditorium..There we met OC..she came to us and said,"All the Best guys!"...I was like..'How sweet!Probably shez not tht bad after all'...then she added," Last time we made somesilly mistakes, this time WE must not repeat them."..'Wait a minute...did she just say WE???'I looked at Neha and she had the same puzzled look tht I had tht moment. Then Ms. OC told us tht her friend who got selected left the place for her and I thought....

"WOWW!What a friend!!But friendship dikhaane ke liye use antakshari hi mili thi!!"X(

And there started OCs oversmartness and domination!!Firstly,I wanted to sit in the front row..(I wore my best top that day for tht reason!)..but she quickly ran to the front seat.Neha offered me other front seat but she is a better singer anyday..so she deserved to sit in the front and so I declined it...And so I sat hidden behind them..*sob sob*

The main thing was tht she brought such a negative energy in the team...with tht 'I-know-it-all-u-r-dumbos' attitude tht it became really frustating and irritating to sit there...
Plus to add to it,"The judges",pataa nahi kaunse janam ka badlaa le rahe the.A lot of places where i could hav easily argued tht we deserved points and we wernt given any.....but I cudnt bcoz eventually they are my professors! And so I sat there hiding my frustration with a huge smile..And my conscience was jumping and dancing...'I told you na...you'll regret it later'...

Well.as a result of all the mess,we came Second LAst!!WHOA!!!from second, last year to second last this year!what a shame!!Actually our cultural this year was prety average as compared to what it was last year...So a bad day!! :( Hoping such days never show up again...and always listen to your conscience......otherwise it gets an opportunity to taunt you :P

P.S. :Currently listening to Taylor Swift ka songs these days...all thanks to Sailo!!Taylor's good! :)
And yeah koi mera result mujhe laa do....MU/Coll<---Hadd kardi aapne!!!

Festivals

I was supposed to post it yesterday.....but felt lazy to do so...so posting it today!!
HAPPY MAKAR SANKRANTI!! and HAPPY PONGAL!!
You know one advantage of staying in Mumbai is...You get to witness celebrations of almost all the festivals...
Yesterday Makar Sankranti was celebrated as pompously as any other festival..You know.."Tilgul ghya god god bola"(i love those laddoos..yum) and people shouting "kaypo che"...it all brings smile on my face...

I was looking out and saw how colourful the sky looked with those colourful kites...btw did you notice the kites with all these celebs on them... katrina, deepika, ranbir, srk n all...Haa..ppl and their inventions!!But one thing I noticed disturbed me..Poor little birds!they looked so confused as to where to fly.. I think they were confused bcoz the kite ka manjha must be coming in their way...I read sometime back tht many birds get injured bcoz of this...you feel so sorry for them. but then each festival has its share of cons..like
HOLI...Its total menace as its approaching..you cannot venture out of your house at least a week before or your clothes are either wet or colourful when you come back home...then theres DIWALI-- 1 festival I am always eagerly waiting for..You know all lovely gifts, new clothes and yummy delicious sweet*mouth watering*..so Diwali-a festival of Lights or is it Diwali- a festival of pollution...The view from my house is very beautiful...mountains on 1 side and tall skyrises on other side...but during diwali I am unable to see any of them bcoz of the amount of smoke!!! and all you pray is tht you dont become deaf!!There are many more such festivals..
I love these festivals but I wish these could be celebrated in a peaceful and less polluting ways..We've already hurt Mother Nature a lot..I hope we dont do it anymore..I know I do sound like a complaining person..I but feel so helpless..Like I cant do anything other than just me following it...
btw this post very small in front of my other lamba chauda posts :D i'll end it with a few lines of a song i like...
GAZING THRU THE WINDOW AT THE WORLD OUTSIDE
WONDERING WILL MOTHER EARTH SURVIVE,
HOPING THAT MANKIND WILL STOP ABUSING HER...
SOMETIME..

I'M JUST A DREAMER,
I DREAM MY LIFE AWAY,
I'M JUST A DREAMER,
WHO DREAMS OF BETTER DAYS.

Signing off...adios! :)
